Let’s learn deeply about headaches before they become a serious disease.

Headaches occur so frequently that many people think just taking medication will treat it. In reality, a headache can be a warning sign of many serious illnesses. Before these illness symptoms spread, let us prepare to care for our health to live with a good quality of life far away from headaches.

 
Headaches can be divided into 2 types according to the nature of their symptoms as follows:
Headaches with causes in the brain such as brain tumors, brain hemorrhaging, abnormal hypertension in the brain or meningitis. As such, doctors will perform brain tests and perform history taking about the nature of their pain symptoms, the site of the pain and its duration and severity. Upon obtaining clear indications, doctors will perform an MRI scan or CT scan or perform a lumbar puncture in order to identify the cause of the disease.
 
Headaches with unclear causes such as migraines and headaches from muscle rigidity.
 
Migraine is a common type of headache that is caused by abnormal sensations of the blood vessels, which lead to severe and painful throbbing feelings on either side and this can occur continuously for 4-72 hours.
 
 “Physical Therapy,” a Non-Medicative Treatment Approach
 
Hot compress pads: These improve blood circulation while reducing muscle rigidity.
 
Ultrasound massage: High-frequency sound waves are used to treat pain symptoms while reducing tissue inflammation to increase joint flexibility in a deep level and reducing swelling and promoting tissue repair.
 
Psychotherapy: For patients with stress-induced headaches, they should be treated by psychotherapy and a program to modify their sub-conscious. This is divided into 2 cases as follows:
 
1. Treatment on the conscious level: This treatment is provided to patients with pain symptoms caused by stress resulting from various problems such as overwork, debts, family matters and personal matters.
2. Treatment on the sub-conscious level: When you repeatedly ruminate about negative thoughts in the brain to the point that you have chronic stress, affect your sleep pattern, being easily upset and having relationship problems with other people, it is necessary to pursue “mind-reprogramming”, that is, to eliminate existing ways of thinking and replacing them with positive thoughts instead.
 
In addition to pursuing the aforementioned treatment methods, there is also acupuncture to improve muscle relaxation. This is because, when the neck muscles remain tense for a long time and there is little blood circulation in the brain, headaches can occur. This treatment can be accompanied by self-care and stress management to relax the mind along with an avoidance of headache triggers.
