11 Things you should do for your healthy heart although you are the elderly

We would like to invite all the elderly to change their lifestyles to increase heart’s strength, prevent and reduce the risk of developing heart diseases so that they can live longer and be with their children for a long time.

 

Quit smoking
Whether it is cigarette, cigar or the ones contain lower levels of nicotine, it increase the risk of having heart problems as tobacco has the substances that damage the heart and blood vessels. Cigarette smoking plays a role by constricting coronary arteries and makes heart work harder.
 
Stay physically active
The older you get, the more exercise you should do because exercising at least 30 minutes for 3-5 days per week can reduce the risk of having heart disease by 25 percent
 
Eat foods with good fats
Eat some fish that have Omega-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids are considered the good fats which is important to the body. It carries cholesterol from other parts of your body back to your liver. Your liver then removes the cholesterol from your body so that the blood vessels are not blocked by cholesterol.
 
Sleep at least 7 hours per day
During the time we sleep, the muscles that we use all day relax, your body works to repair organs. If you do not have adequate sleep, the body will create the hormone that makes the heart and blood vessels work harder.
 
Do not have too much stress
When we get stressed, the heart works harder, pumping blood around your body to the organs becomes irregular. If the stress remains for too long, it can result in cardiomegaly
 
Drink one glass of wine per day
The research found out that drinking a little red wine a day can reduce the risk of developing heart disease.
 
Eat fruits and vegetables constantly
Vegetables and fruits contain antioxidants that help body’s cell and blood vessel strong. It can prevent acute coronary syndrome
 
Do not become overweight
Being overweight will lead to high blood pressure and high cholesterol, if you can lose weight at least 10 percent, it can reduce the risk of having heart problems
 
Control the blood pressure
When you have high blood pressure, the heart has to work harder to pump blood to the body which can cause the heart muscle to get thicker and a lot thicker heart muscle will make heart weaker
 
Control the blood sugar
When a high level of sugar builds up in the blood, the body’s cell works improperly and damages the wall of blood vessels which will increase the risk of death from heart disease more than 50-80 percent when compared to normal people
 
Have a health check-up at least once a year
When abnormalities are found, the treatment can provide or the patient can adjust his or her lifestyle because there are no shown symptoms in some diseases. Visit the doctor for examination and blood test will be another good way for disease prevention.
