EUS-FNA is commonly used to evaluate:

1. Digestive tract disorders: Tumors, ulcers, and inflammation in the esophagus, stomach, and intestines.

2. Pancreatic and biliary diseases: Pancreatitis, gallstones, and tumors in the pancreas and bile ducts.

3. Cancer staging: Determining the extent of cancer spread in the digestive tract and nearby organs.

4. Lymph node evaluation: Identifying enlarged or abnormal lymph nodes that may indicate cancer or other conditions.

EUS-FNA is generally safe, but potential risks include bleeding, infection, and perforation. It's important to discuss the risks and benefits with GI specialist before undergoing the procedure.
